Meeting And Greeting...
The sun is streaming through the window, the tall buildings of London silhouetted against a grey blue sky...
Anadi was watching a video this morning that was telling of the enormity of our galaxy and galaxies beyond, and in all of this planet earth is a small speck whirling through space...
And I am on a train...
Lots of movement!
Nothing staying in one place and yet all springing from complete silence and stillness.
My sister Rosy and I usually meet near Portsmouth, in 'our' hotel, where we eat breakfast, talk and talk and then eat lunch and talk some more...
But today she has work in Eastbourne...
And so instead of heading to Portsmouth as originally planned, I am on my way to meet my little sister in the town where I lived for twelve years!
Wonderful Eastbourne, with the beautiful South Downs and the sea....
So far, in my 'best places to run' research - as I travel around the world - the downs are very near the top of the list...
Over the years, wanting to run has leant itself to exploring all sorts of different terrain and unfamiliar territory on foot, with nothing needed except some running kit and a bottle (or six in some climates !) of water...
In fact as I cast my mind back I don't remember taking water with me when I ran in the past... I relied on appearing in a town and being able to buy something, or finding a tap by a church...
When I was travelling on the underground today, I thought that doing it everyday, especially during rush hour, is not really a way I would enjoy living; even though for small patches of time, I find it fun and enjoy the different experience...
But on reflection if something has affected my running, meaning for instance that I don't have the time to run, or get enough sleep to run well... Then I have stopped doing the 'something'...
This has always been true... Running has kept me living a stiller life, and creating a lifestyle that includes a lot of time in nature and alone... Researching best places to run!
It didn't take me long to discover that if life is over full or over fast, then running gets squeezed out, gets slower, doesn't feel as good....and neither do I.
It is a truth often missed, that if we work to look after ourselves, and find out how to be at ease and clear, this has a positive effect on those around us...
Learning to be with ourselves and love ourselves is often deemed selfish, but if we are centred in our selves we have limitless love available for others.
Later...
I am sitting with my friend Wendy in the Grand Hotel in Eastbourne...
I have spent the day here 'meeting and greeting'!
Rosy and I spent a wonderful sister time together, all day breakfasting to cream tea ing!
Wends was on her way; for a healing session...
We'd booked into the hotel too, so that we could also talk and talk all night if we want to!
Before she arrived my old boyfriend James texted me to ask if I was in Eastbourne...
'I am' I replied...
So just as Rosy left, he arrived...
The doorman was amused... 'Have you any more guests arriving madam...'?
'One more'. I laughed...
Wends arrived and joined James and I...
And now we are back at the Grand; we have the lounge to ourselves...
We have talked and healed; walked along the blustery, chilly, magical fresh air seafront to eat pasta and salad... To talk and heal some more...
