The Day Before The Day...
I woke up just after half past six in our new home in Phuket.
Anadi was sleeping soundly and I was wide awake!
I checked my Emails and put our 'cocktail pictures' on Facebook in the bathroom so as not to wake him!
At 7am there was still no stirring from Anadi, I found some clothes by the light of my phone and slipped outside to a bright sunny, warm humid new day; she wrapped me in her expansive energy and invited me to play...
I made my way across the grass, past the pool, across the road where a smiling Thai gentleman saluted me and waved me by, down some steps and the next thing I knew, I was on a beautiful sandy beach
I walked down to the edge of the sea shore, the warm water lapped around my bare feet.
I looked up and down the quiet sandy stretch and felt that I truly have come home, the planet my home.
My tendon is a bit stiff today, so I just walked the length of the beach, paddling along in the shallow seawater, there was nothing else... I felt that I could walk forever, silently, at the edge of the vast expanse of water...
The red flag was flying signalling dangerous rip tides; swimming was out... I am especially aware of the risk having got caught in a rip current in Costa Rica last December!
Here, there are pictures and instructions on how to escape; in Costa Rica we had arrived having run onto the beach from a different direction to where the sign was displayed and we had not seen it...
Since the event, we have been told by many people how to escape a rip tide... Including from my own brother who says our father told him!
Last year it was like being in a box with the instructions of how to get out on the outside...
I walked back across the grass to our room, and crept about to find some training shoes.... I then went in search of my new gym....
I was so well looked after, first by a lady who signed me in and gave me a towel. I climbed aboard the cross trainer and after twenty minutes of activity, i decided to change to the Concept 2 rowing machine, the lady came and brought me another towel...!
I decided to cover 5000m on the rower and was concerned when a man came into the gym, that he might be wanting to use it - that I was holding him up - because he didn't seem to be exercising but waiting around... I then realised that he was there to look after me too!
It was nearly half past nine by the time I returned to our room, where Anadi was stirring... Breakfast ended at 10.30 so we showered and made our way to an array of everything we could possibly want...
I am in my own version of heaven here... there were magic potion special Thai herbal drinks, and every fruit imaginable and sesame seeds and yoghurt...
And...
Thai massage is advertised everywhere...!
I said to Anadi I have everything I could possibly desire....
Sun, sea, a gym, deep tissue Thai sports massage, healthy Thai food and - most importantly him... Oh and cocktails of course!
Later...
We are just back from another walk along the beach...
After breakfast I left Anadi doing updates in 'his office' on the balcony to his iMediaLibrary Sports platform, and talking on skype to his sales manager Richard who is in the UK...
And went in search of a massage...!
I wandered along the road and saw a sign which directed me right up a smaller road smaller road...
I came to a place that offered all kinds of wonderful treatments.
I left my flip flops on the step and was ushered into a quiet cool treatment room.
I then enjoyed a beautiful Thai massage, it was very deep and my masseuse used all of her body to get into all the tight and holding areas in my body... It was like a silent dance, bodies communicating with one another, moving, expressing, releasing...
She invited me to go back, 'it will be good for you for when you go home...'
I imagine I will be there very day! This is my home - for now...
Later still...
We are sitting in a bar in the hotel, no one else is here, it is damp outside following a torrential rain and an impressive electric storm.
A big group of us were high up looking over sea celebrating with Flo and Yiing the night before their wedding.
The sunset was magnificent, we had enjoyed both the delicious food and the connection between us all; we love Flo and Yiing and we are here to celebrate with them, and share the experience of their wedding with them as they become man and wife...
It seems a long time ago that Flo, Yiing, Anadi and I went for a pre-wedding meal in a Thai restaurant in Eastbourne in August...
And here we are the night before the day...
The lightening flashed around the hills and the rain was sudden and very determined in its energy and downpour!
The road to our Hotel was flooded on our return!
As Anadi and I sit here drinking our cappuccinos, the sound of the dripping trees, and the wet humid night air wraps around us now; in damp night time velvet peace and calm, preparing us to rest in readiness for a new day dawning.....
A wedding day...!
