Shed Anything Holding Us
Anadi and I are just coming off the A40 onto the north circular...
Only this morning we drove from Brighton along the beautiful coastal route to Eastbourne, making it extra specially scenic by going past Birling gap...
I love that road, the downs stretching alongside us, the sea, the Cuckmere haven... The scene of so many exceptional running experiences...
And the route of the Beachy head marathon, famous for finishing up all of the seven sisters, the chalky peaks that define that stretch of the downs...
I ran and won that race many years ago.... It was 2003.
It seems recent in some ways, another lifetime in others...
We drove into the Grand hotel... I went in the meet my client, and Anadi walked off to find a cafe to work in. He was meeting his sales manager Richard later, and then they were going up to Brighton university for a meeting with my friends Rob, Stu and Flo... Rob and Stu both winners of the Beachy head marathon too... Stu many times!
At 6pm I emerged from a fulfilling day with my clients, and found that Anadi hand texted me 15 minutes earlier to say he was at the top of Blackwater road...
I swooped in to pick him up and off we zoomed...
I loved dropping into Eastbourne... I loved seeing all the people I spent the day with.
I loved returning to the Grand...
I am always made to feel very welcome there, like I have returned home.
Travelling as we do, asks that we shed anything that is limiting, anything holding us from this moment...
By living where we are, not just in terms of geography, but in terms of time - now - then everything else ceases, and the 'now' magnifies and embraces us to clear the way for the next moment and the next...
And so as I sparkle with moonstones, in my ears, around my neck and on my fingers I resonate with their energy of what is....
